The speaker asserts that people can learn as much by watching tv as they can learn by reading books and so reading books is not as important as it once was.I cannot agree with speaker as he takes on extreme side. One can never say that with new old is replaced completely.Every thing has its own advantages.
No doubt television has become a boon in the modern period. video recording and its transmission through television channels has revolutionized the field of information.The television and video have anumber of advantages.They show the details both by audio and visual means.The information is accurate as it can be presented with all the details existed.These are few reasons to explain the advantages of tv over books.

But books also have their own importance,which cannot be taken by television.Books are the excellent medium for learning.we read a variety of books written by experts which give different perspectives of the subject.The knowledge of the world is growing at a tremendous rate.to catch up the latest developments in any subject,we have to depend on books and not on television.

In sum we can state that video and television and also books serve their respective functions well. Each is supreme in its areas and it cannot be concluded that television is more important than books in learning process.
